2017 Summer Youth Art Camps!!
Camp #1-Basic Drawing Camp Dates-June 19 to 22 Time-9-11:30 am Ages- 5 and over Instructors-Loretta Verbout & Theresa Hoaglund Description – campers will learn different drawing & shading techniques, still life, botanical, portraiture, decorative and much more. Will learn about different drawing tools, how to use, what they are used for & other options/opportunities. Max 12.
Camp #2-Fiber Arts Camp Dates-June 26 to 29 Time-1-3:30 pm Ages- 5 and over Instructors-Anne Thiemann & Loretta Verbout Description-campers will do a variety of projects from loom knitting, simple & loom weaving, we will work with a variety of fabrics, do some felting and more. Max 12 Camp #3-Mixed Media Dates-July 10 to 13 Time-1-3:30 pm Ages-5 and over Instructors-Loretta Verbout & Theresa Hoaglund. Description-during this camp, the campers will use a variety of techniques and media to create a variety of masterpieces as decorative and useful items. Max 12 Camp #4-Painting Techniques Dates-July 17 to 20 Time-9-11:30 am Ages-5 and over Instructors – Theresa Hoaglund & L. Verbout Description- Campers during this camp will learn ‘hands-on’ a variety of painting techniques to create a number of creative, artistic masterpieces. Campers should come dressed to get dirty (paint), in comfortable older clothes. Max 12 Camp #5-Potpourri of Media Dates-July 24 – 28 Time-9-11:30 am Ages – Grades 1-3. Instructors Gayle Dahl & Anne Thiemann Description- Campers will have a lot of fun learning how to handle many mediums using acrylics, watercolors, sharpies. Painting on canvas, watercolor paper, glass, wood. In this class you will also learn about an artist or two and then try you adaption of their style. Max 12 Camp #6-Potpourri of Media Dates-July 24 – 28 Time-1:00-3:30 pm Ages – Grades 4 & up Instructors Gayle Dahl & Anne Thiemann Description- Campers will have a lot of fun learning how to handle many mediums using acrylics, watercolors, sharpies. Campers will even write & illustrate their own story about the Mantorville Art Guild Fairy Garden. This camp is great for both boys & girls! Max 12 Camp #8-Art Camp for Individuals with Special Needs Dates-August 14 – 17 Times-9-11:30 am All Ages. Instructors-Loretta Verbout & A Thiemann. Description-This camp is for individuals with physical and intellectual challenges that they prefer not to participate in regular camp. Camp is open for individual from 5-105, if 1 on 1 assistance is needed, please have someone attend (free) with individual. Campers will explore their creative abilities through a variety of art activities from basic drawing, painting and more. Parents/legal guardians will be required to complete a “2017 Summer Art Camp Student Information & Photography Release” Form prior to the start of camp. Registration is not complete with out payment of camp fee(s) In the event a camp is full at time of registration, camper will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which registrations were received. Notification will be made if/when a spot opens or if an additional session is added.
